Here’s How Veterans Can Qualify

Veterans Assistance has specific qualifications for the Aid & Attendance benefit. Our team of caregivers will gladly address your questions and concerns regarding eligibility. Here are the basic requirements set by Veterans Assistance:

  • Needs another person to help with some or all daily activities.
  • Meets income and asset requirements from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Served at least one day during a war.
  • Served at least 90 days in the active military.
  • Honorably discharged.
  • Is 65 years or older or disabled.

About the Aid & Attendance Benefit

The Aid & Attendance Benefit is a benefit from Veteran’s Affairs. It is provided to veterans and their spouses when they meet the basic requirements shown above. It aids service members who sustained an injury or degraded health and well-being from wartime or old age. The benefit provides tools and resources to improve their physical and mental health and overall quality of life. It is specifically for veterans and their spouses who have difficulty doing daily, routine tasks and need assistance to improve their lives.

What Wars and Conflicts Qualify

We’re honored to provide aid and benefits to former service members who qualify. Veterans must meet the basic requirements shown above, which include having served for 90 days and being honorably discharged. You may qualify if you served during the following:

  • World War II: December 7, 1941 – July 26, 1947
  • Korean Conflict: June 27, 1950 – January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam War: February 28, 1961 – May 7, 1975
  • Persian Gulf War: August 2, 1990 – Date to be prescribed by presidential proclamation
